In this single, 2hr Basic Safety and Use workshop, students will learn how to safely set up and use a variety of fabrication tools in the metal shop:

English Wheel
Slip Roller
Finger brake
Turrett punch
Drill press
Horizontal & vertical bandsaw
Sheet metal shear
Beverly shear

Students must come to class with appropriate attire, which includes closed-toe work boots/shoes and long pants. Clothing must be made of a non-synthetic material, and long hair must be tied back.

Makerspace NYC will provide safety glasses, gloves and ear protection. Completion of this class certifies students to use this equipment independently as a member or a non-member on a day pass.
