In this Basic Safety and Use workshop, students will learn how to set up and use the laser cutter. We will start with a basic introduction to the software, loading files & running projects in Universal Laser Systems 60Watt CO2 Laser.

Completion of this single, 1.5hr class certifies students to use equipment independently as a member or a non-member on a day pass.

Students must come to class with appropriate attire, which includes closed-toe shoes, and hair tied back.

Open to all, ages 16+

INSTRUCTOR:
Evan Smith (he/him) attended Suffolk Community College for Advanced Manufacturing. He is an ASE certified mechanic and AWS certified welder with a background in architectural and structural fabrication. Evan has been teaching at Makerspace NYC since 2016, he is a left-handed Libra, and his favorite food is mac n cheese.

REFUNDS / CANCELATIONS:
If we cancel, we will refund you in full and notify you. You may cancel and get a full refund up to three days before the class. After that, refunds are contingent on us being able to fill your seat. Under no circumstances do we offer refunds to individuals who cancel on the same day. This ruins the party for everyone.
